Question about your studies

The Student Advisory Services (ZSB) of the KIT helps with general questions about studying, e.g. with the organization of your studies, with the planning and management of your studies, study problems, juggling your studies and family / children, change of your study program or university, impending loss of right to examination and dropping out of studies.

The Students Office is the first point of contact for all general student administration matters such as re-registration, de-registration, leave of absence, examination administration and the issuing of certificates, diplomas and certificates that are not directly available via the Campus Management Portal.

Are you studying to become a secondary school teacher and looking for information on the practical semester and traineeship?

The Zentrum für Lehrkräftebildung at KIT serves as a central point of contact for all students at KIT studying to become secondary school teachers, as well as an intermediate to other institutions involved in teacher training, such as the Regierungspräsidium, the Landeslehrerprüfungsamt, the Staatliches Seminar für Didaktik und Lehrerbildung.

The International Students Office is not only the contact point for all international students at KIT, but also offers assistance and support for all KIT students during a temporary study or internship abroad, e.g. within the framework of ERASMUS+ or a partner exchange with other universities.

The MINT-Kolleg supports students in their first semesters to ease the transition from school to university and prepares them for a degree in mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology.

Academic advisors are representatives of the KIT departments (professors or research assistants) who answer students' questions about the individual degree programs during their studies.

The examination board decides on all applications submitted by students, e.g:

  • recognition of study and examination achievements when changing degree programs
  • recognition of study and examination achievements from abroad
  • regulations and approvals relating to examinations
  • special regulations for final theses

The study and examination regulations stipulate that each degree program has an examination board. §16 regulates the responsibility. Information and contact details for the examination board for your degree program can be found on the website of your KIT department.

The course coordination has been set up at each department to support the examination board of the degree programs.

The course coordination is available to you as a point of contact if you need support, e.g. with applications to the examination board or if you have the following concerns:

  • booking of prior master's transfer credits
  • booking of additional credits
  • problems with exam registration and de-registration
  • registration for examinations that cannot be registered online
  • applications to the examination board

Student representatives are students who provide voluntary support with their own experiences from their studies and also offer learning materials such as old exams and examination transcripts.
