There are a number of deadlines to be observed during your studies. Make sure you read the documents relevant to your degree program, such as the study and examination regulations (general and special sections) and the module handbooks for your degree program.

Semester dates

The winter semester begins on October 1 and ends on March 31.

The summer semester begins on April 1 and ends on September 30.

Each semester is divided into a lecture period and a lecture-free period. During the lecture-free period, the so-called "semester break", the performance assessments for the courses take place. The examination period also ends at the end of the semester. You can find the exact times under dates and deadlines at KIT.

Re-registration

In order to continue your studies at KIT, it is necessary to re-register in good time for each upcoming semester. The deadlines for re-registration for the summer semester are from January 15 to February 15, for the winter semester from July 1 to August 15.
